During the summer of 2018 the founding members of the MLK Initiative partnered with the NHS Governor for the National Policy Board, Mr Khalid Ali. Together the problem and solution was identified. Together, a strategy which would engage the public sector with BAME private sector organisations to increase the quality of care within inner cities across the United Kingdom was realised.
It was during this strategic process that we identified a seasoned care professional from London called Clayton Bryce. Clayton had a vision to establish a national brand which provides culturally appropriate young people’s services however experienced the usual barriers a person of colour from an inner city would.
Together and with our strategic support and extensive partner network we have been instrumental in establishing the United Kingdom’s first BAME led national young people’s service under the leadership of Clayton. The MLK Initiative has been working closely with Valicity Care Services for over three years to create a best practice young people’s service which provides a tailored and culturally appropriate home environment for disadvantaged young people from all backgrounds to flourish.
We are proud to create the foundations for marginalised communities who are excluded from contributing either socially or economically to the environment they live in. To invest in our young people is to invest in our future and our partnership with Valicity Care Services has demonstrated, anyone can realise any dream…… which can change anyone’s circumstances.
