MLK III x
Yorkshire County Cricket Board

The MLK III Initiative is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Yorkshire County Cricket Board. Yorkshire Cricket Board is the governing body for all recreational cricket in the historic county of Yorkshire.

This traditional English sport dates back to the mid- 16th century and grew through the expansion of the empire. Today, we see a high participation amongst commonwealth countries where the sport is played passionately. Yorkshire Cricket club has a long standing commitment to increasing participation amongst minority communities through out Yorkshire as well as establishing  localised facilities such as Park Lane Cricket Club to name one.

Our partnership will create a culturally appropriate Cricket Scholarship Programme where 10 young people from diverse backgrounds will be supported with a financial bursary, mentoring and coaching support service to complete a 12 month traineeship. This will introduce minority young people to the professional game as participants and career professionals as well as creating a pathway to senior management.
